Currently July

What's the deal?  Last time I checked the calendar, it was still JUNE!   Looks like Farley over at Oh Boy! Fourth Grade got an early start for her Currently July.  Now, I didn't actually go read them all, but last time I looked there were 215 folks linked up already?!  Here's mine:

Listening:  It's Tour de France time.  Pretty much all I'll hear for the next couple of weeks is Phil Liggett's voice giving me a pedal by pedal account of each stage of the race.  This first stage had a surprise ending.  I generally like surprise endings, but they often aren't the happy kind in cycling.  Hearing Phil's voice also reminds me that, this time last year, I was in France watching a stage of the race.  Here's a photo I took of the leaders of that stage:

Loving:  With the whole Bloglovin' linky, this has been an amazing week of contests, new friends, and FREEBIES!  It will likely take me hours to sort through and get things 'filed' where they need to be!

Thinking:  It's time for a photo adventure.  I'm heading into the city tomorrow with friends to just wander and shoot.  Hopefully, I'll have some good pictures to share on Run, Miss Nelson's Got the Camera's new Saturday Snapshots linky.  I love, love that new linky!

Wanting:  Okay, I don't REALLY want winter to come back.  However, I've had about enough of this nearly 100 degree heat.  It wouldn't be so bad, but we don't have air conditioning.  "Oh, you don't need it when you live this close to the water," laughed our realtor years ago.  Ha!  Turns out that you do!

Needing:  I started writing this post last night and last night I was needing some Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia Fro-yo.  Not so much this morning.  But I'm willing to bet I will need it later!

Tips:  Just Do It.  Not very original, but those three words are pretty powerful.  My friend and co-worker passed away this weekend after struggling with breast cancer for more than 3 years.  She led a 'Just Do It' kind of life and lived it passionately.  Don't let the fear of failing keep you from trying.  Whatever it is that you've been dreaming of doing...just do it.

Now head on over to Oh' Boy Fourth Grade and link up!

  2. How fun to take a photo adventure around San Francisco! I've never been to the west coast, but it's a goal of mine. Can't wait to see pictures. And I hope your temps come down soon. That's crazy how hot it's been!

  3. I've been loving all the giveaways, too! Ice cream sounds good right now. Haha!! It's hot here in South Carolina. We haven't had a 100 degree day yet, but it's still hot.

  4. Hi Lori:
First, I chuckled about wanting Winter (100-plus degree temps do make us wish that, huh?!).
Then I saw that you actually went to see the Tour de France in FRANCE! WOW! I love listening to Phil's voice, but I love a little Bobke now and then too! I'm a watcher not a cycler, but the Tour is on ALL day in my house. Hubs is an avid fan and I've been drawn in as well!
I am now a follower and I have to go back and read some of your older posts to learn a little more about you to get caught up.
    SO glad I found you!

PS My last Five for Friday talked about my recent trip to San Francisco too. My pics were not so great. I'll look forward to seeing yours...

    1. Kim,
Seeing the Tour de France last year was amazing. I was visiting with my son and his wife in Germany in July. I suggested that we take a jaunt over to France to see one of the stages as they lived less than 2 hours away. We spent the day in a tiny village surrounded by the locals. My husband, who is the cyclist in the family, chose NOT to make the trip to Germany and missed out on the experience. C'est la vie!

I just went back and read your last Five for Friday post...what a whirlwind, fun trip you had! I finally made it to see a Giant's game myself. Isn't that stadium wonderful!
